Avery Dinallo, DNP, ARNP-C, FNP-C
Avery Dinallo, DNP, ARNP-C is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner trained in dermatology. Avery recently moved to Florida from New Jersey where she was practicing at Princeton Dermatology Associates. She is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and management of chronic and acute dermatological conditions of residents in assisted living, independent living and skilled nursing facilities and will also have office hours in our Tampa location beginning in October.
Avery received her nursing degree from Brookdale Community College where she was named the Outstanding Student of Science and Health Sciences. There served as both the Vice President of the Honor Society and the President of the Brookdale Student Nurses Association for 2 years. She has been working in healthcare for 10 years, beginning as a CHHA in an assisted living facility, to a patient care technician in labor & delivery, a registered nurse throughout orthopedics and medical/surgical departments, a charge nurse and finally the Clinical Nurse Leader of the cardiac and stroke unit at Monmouth Medical Center in NJ.
At MMC she was the co-creator of the Teach Back patient education program which has been implemented throughout the RWJ Barnabas Health system. The importance of educating patients about their diagnosis in a way that they can understand and implement in their lives carried over into her doctoral research project at Rutgers University where she implemented a skin cancer screening tool focused on educating patients of their risk of skin cancer. In addition to her primary care clinical hours, Avery also completed a dermatology externship during her final year at Rutgers University and graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She is currently an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. For fun, Avery enjoys traveling, working out, reading by the pool (with sunscreen and a big hat) and exploring her new home in Tampa with her husband.
